Hi there, a few months ago I aquired an exceptionaly low milage 1989 (F) MR2 Mk1 with only 50k on the clock with every single MOT from new to verify this. The car has also only has a small number of owners and is MOT'd and Tax'd.

As some of you may know I run 'Superb Classics and Sports Ltd' ( www.superbclassics.co.uk ) which specilaises in selling A1 condition low milage Mk1 MR2's and also replacment decal kits on ebay. Soon to become an affiliate member where I hope to offer a discount on the parts to you guys - although this is still in the pipeline.

The MR2's I normaly buy and sell are A1 condition not needing any major bodywork repairs due to rust unlike this example. My intention was to restore the car to A1 condition, this would involve:

x2 new front wings
x2 rear wheel arches
a respray

Some people might consider the front wings repairable and even the rear arches with plating/filler - but I beleive if you are going to do somthing then do it properly, so I personaly would replace the wings.

I am in two minds about having her profesionaly restored or offering her for sale as she is. Restored she would be worth, to me a specialist dealer around £3,800 - £4,800 at an estimate, due to milage and A1 restored condition. Warenty included.

I would probably get the original cloth interior replaced with a custom leather job but may just keep it 100% original.

I will add some photos once I have given her a clean. She is an original Mk1b on a F plate with a sunroof.

Like I said I am undecided as what path to take at the moment. Thinking about putting her on ebay for £1,695 ono

** If sombody wanted me to restore the car and they receive an A1 condition restored MR2 then this is also an option after viewing and a price agreed. Involvment at this early stage would mean that if you wanted to customise the car with a specific interior or paintwork options such as two tone leather, colour coded mirors, custom colour decals, ICE, Stainless Steel Exhaust, Induction Kit etc... then this would be posible and your perfect MR2 built to order. **

Photos below show what can be done in the way of small customisation to an MR2:

Deposit taken this morning on this car and is due tobe collected end of September.

The buyer want me to have the car rsestored for him one stage at a time as his funds become available. This will eventualy include all the areas and some of the options detailed above.

Many thanks to all thoese who enquired about the car, I'm sure I will have another car for sale soon - but probably in A1 condition.

If anyone is interested I was thinking or starting a thread for this 'project', if the new owner would be willing for this. This would be in the relevent area of the site.

Would anybody be interested in me doing this?

Many Thanks

Daf :)
