Thanks for putting this one up Bill.
Very much looking forward to seeing what it is all about. The racing on saturday & opportunity to go around the paddock and drive the track on sunday really appeal.
Camping is £10 per person regardless of what you are camping in. We've got the van so will give it a go.

I never said anything of the sort (or at least not intentionally, was referring to TPCC not camping) I always planned to camp, after forking out for that flippin van! I did wonder why you had said no given your affection for beer!

Steady on mate, your PM says arn't planning on camping (direct quote). You know I love a night under canvas with large amounts of alcohol :-)
Anyway it will be good to see Vern again....

Well they are a bunch of wusses, most of them sneaked off early at Tatton, unlike the mighty MK1 club who stuck it out. Sorry for the crossed wires but let's get another great event started :-)

hi, use to the rain and cold in buxton , looking forward to this one should be fun . going of topic ,i now have the info on the mr2 smashed up near tatton . my mate up the road who saw the crash said it was a mk1 gun metal grey and it was smashed to pieces ,head lights in the road , front end destroyed , both bumpers off , drivers side wheels snapped off and all panels bent .it was a big accident , i hope the driver was alright .
coverco
10th June 2012, 09:12 PM
Were they going to Tatton Gary or just out for a drive. Gunmetal grey cars are pretty rare so it is a shame to lose one :-(

Put me down to arrive Friday evening, assuming I can't sneak away from work any earlier. I'll bung the gazebo, banners and flags in anyway shall I? Only logistical problem (again) is how to get both the camper H471TJX AND G644YLD on site on the Friday! Anyone got one of those home diy cloning kits? :) (You will have to help me kill the clone if it turns out evil though)

I'm only planning on getting there Saturday morning. I'm guessing there is information in the letter about what time I need to be there and where to go and stuff?
Ever wish you'd joined the camper van owners club LOL
Saturday and Sunday look relatively dry actually http://www.forecast.co.uk/oulton.html although a lot of events I've tried to go to over the last few weekends have been cancelled due to water logged fields even though the actually weekend weather has been really nice.
Finger crossed, and I'll be turning up either way. Sara only lives round the corner, maybe I can talk her into letting us all crash in her front room for the evening ;)

Speaking of work, I'm going to have to be a big gay and back out of this weekend. We've been asked to work the weekend as we're implementing a new phone system and moving a large site over the weekend! :(
I've let Bill know, who has said that he'll have to freeze all the bacon he'd bought, lol.
I'll wear my Mk1 Club T-Shirt to hopefully feel as if I'm there in spirit! :D
If anyone knows anyone that wants a ticket, please get in touch and I'll send it over next day delivery!
Have a great one guys and girls!
It'll make Tatton all the better!!!

Or Tatton! Maybe I'm the jinx and you'll get sunshine as I won't be there! I've just found out that my mate John Farrell will be competing at Oulton this weekend. I don't know what he's driving (probably a classic Formula Ford), but you might want to cheer him on.

Hi Tommy. I may do - I'm trying to extricate myself from work as soon as possible, but I've done nothing toward preparing the camper yet so I'm at least two hours away from hitting the road (then it's around an hour on the road too). I'm guessing that getting the camper on site and ensconced first is the higher priority, so if you could give me a lift back at about 7pm that would be great. If it's a problem, Tracey is around so I can get her to come and get me. See everyone (who is waterproof) later.
Sent you a pm

Got back about an hour ago, this was one of the best events I have ever been to. Fantastic facilities, racing on the Saturday and great company. I know Bill took loads of pictures so I am sure he will put them up when he gets a chance.
Mike has still not stopped laughing about my panic attack on Saturday night when I couldn't get out of the tent to relieve myself at 3am.
Finally a big thank you to Bill for organising a brilliant event and to Julian for allowing us to use his camper and off course to all the other MK1 club members who made it so much fun.......see you all at Tatton :-)

Sunday we hit the track brilliant fun . thanks to bill again for taking more time of his organizing another memorable event and Julian for a top fry up in the camper Sunday morning .

You missed an absolutely brilliant event Anthony. It was really wet on the Friday but the cars were still out practicing, there were puddles so deep that when the cars went through them they were throwing sheets of water up about 10 foot high. I hope you can make it next year, at £10 each to camp it must the cheapest way to go watching racing there is.

Can't really stress how great a time I had.
Massive thanks to everyone who was there. Feels like I've had a little holiday with some really great Friends. And Julian, what a great guy, putting a roof over my head, feeding me and everyone for that matter, and then getting his tool kit out and getting the rusty screws out my car. Really feel like I'm not giving enough back!
Bill - Awesome as always, really knits the group together! I dread the day you pack in, we'll fall apart.
Gary, Kris, Alison, Tommy, Mike - all being great people, becoming great friends and mixing so well.
Look forward to seeing you all again!

Ha ha, I was aware that I had sunglasses on my head for the whole weekend :)
It was really bright and needed them, but I find it impolite to socialised with sunglasses on so kept lifting them up to talk to people which was all the time :)
I've got a bunch of pics I need to get round to sticking up too. Not as good as Bills though.
