Hi,
Had my MR2 now for a couple of weeks and am very impressed with it overall. Not sure if im allowed to say this but i also own an X1/9 and am amazed at the difference between the two cars even though they are both 88 cars and essentially the same design. It would be interesting to see what the prices of the two cars were when new as the lack of development of the X1/9 is so evident. Would be interested to meet up with other members in the Swindon area.

erm X1/9 !!!! it is a fact that the MK1 Club would not exist if it weren't for the X1/9, club founder was an X1/9 owner and enthusiast and when looking for a replacement for his falling to bits X1/9 (they all did, didn't they?) he found the Mr2 not Mk1 as there was no MK2 back then, so the Toyota Mr2 Register was founded later to become the MR2 MK1 Club, history lesson over.

Road test/specs and OTR prices of a 1B car at launch in '87, don't have to hand info for the X1/9 but I have in my head a figure of sub 10K for a last model Birtone in blue around '88/'89 yes I nearly bought one new!!!
