Hi all,

Looking for my first mk1 and have a budget of £600 with tax and MOT. Is this possible?
If you know of any going for this then please let me know.
I used to have a mk2 and mk3 so never owned the classic.
I'm from Cambridgeshire but also bordering on Hertfordshire too.
Would really appreciate if anyone could help me source one :)

Hi I think on that sort of a budget you will only find one that will need a lot of work on it. If you go a bit higher you will find one unless your really lucky. I recently picked one up for £400 but it has had new front wings 2 sills and im about to put a rear 1/4 panel on it. The 1/4 isn't necessary to most people but I know its been repaired badly and I got the 1/4 cheap. so my £400 car has cost me £800 plus my labour and painting the new panels. Oh and then I put a mk2 turbo engine in it
