I've got a set of D2 coilovers for the mk1 they must have only done 900 miles and only selling them as I am putting back to standard then possibly selling my car. They are off a mk1b but as you know its easy to convert a mk1a to mk1b suspension. The asking price is £450 and will lower the car as much as you want and still retain the full suspension travel

All 4 corners or just a pair?
Any chance of some pics? Very interested but money is very tight at the minute until i get paid.
Rough cost for postage?

I will have them but I don't want to jump the queue, so we will wait to see what Jawa says, if he is OK with it then consider them sold. Have you got pictures of the rear top mounts Dave, are they pillow ball mounts as I have heard these are a bit harsh for road use and can cause problems?

The rears are pillow mounts and damping is adjustable. The springs can be changed for softer ones fir little money. I didnt have any provlems but I always avoid pot holes and speed humps.

I have to ask Dave, on our roads how on earth do you avoid potholes and speed bumps :-)
Anyway we will wait to see what Jawa says.

As much as it pains me to say, it will take me a few weeks to get funds for these so i'll let them go to coverco as i feel it would be unfair to make him wait that long. Cheers for being considerate!!

It was a spur of the moment thing for me. If Dave will wait you can have them, I do so few miles in my car it would be a bit of a waste, but business is good so thought I would treat myself. I am easy any which way :-)

Like i said i t will take me a few weeks to get the funds together...shall we say whoever gets the money to Dave first takes the parts? Either way they will be going to a good home. Still interested!!!

Well that decides it, they are currently sitting in my garage waiting for me to fit them :-)
Just waiting for Dave to send me the c-spanners and then I can get them fitted and set up. They do look very nice but only time will tell if they are too harsh for road use (not that I do a lot of miles anyway). Thanks Dave.

I don't know what the roads are like near you Mike but round here they are shocking!! Perhaps 20mm to start and see what happens. I do like the fact that no matter how much you lower them you still get the full travel on the shocks though. Have to work out how to mount the brake pipes but it should be done for Silverstone :-)

you'll need to either lengthen your drop links or use adjustable one's, the standard drop links are far too short, I've used these:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ADJUSTABLE-DROP-LINKS-UNIVERSAL-150-200mm-220-320mm-BMW-E90-91-92-93-ASTRA-G-/360687508299?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item53faa69b4b#ht_1413wt_965
They fit and can be adjusted each time the ride height is changed.
Don't forget that each time you change the ride height your camber/castor angle will change and will need setting.

£42.49 for one drop link :o:o:o
I will use Ford ones if I need to change them and adjust them accordingly 2 for £9.26, now that is more like it :-)

I recently became a hypocrit and bought the mk3/mk4 fiesta rear drop links for £18 :)

price is for a pair (all you see in the picture), and you'll need to adjust them every time you change the height. Admittedly thats not going to be often, but if you attend track days and want to adjust the pre-load on the roll bars or ride height on the day, they are handy and easy.
The ford links are good for the price, but will need cutting and welding.
With D2's and whiteline roll bars my drop links are 310mm long.

Don't worry I won't be going near any tracks, well I will be near Silverstone but my car won't be going on the circuit :-)
