Right then, stumbled upon this, not mine but worth sharing...

Rear arches and sills look in good order, as do the A posts and floors. So if your mk1 is white, and rotten this may be a cheaper way to a solid one than rebuilding a rusty shell.
Or could send it away to be acid dipped then do any repairs and rebuild from scratch to get a solid mk1 that could last another 20 yrs... starting with a solid base.
