Hi all
Saying hi from north west England.
Just bought a 1989 mk1 t bar for my partner and she loves it. It seems to be ok. No rust at all (been dry used only for years). Got receipts back to first purchase nod seems mechanically sound so far. Possibly got an intermittently sticking rear calliper but I've read that can be quite common, plus this has hardly been driven, so expecting a few issues over the next few weeks.
No doubt I'll be asking some questions :)
Thanks
Paul and Chez

Thanks for the msgs and offers guys. As luck would have it, we got our kids on every occasion of the suggested meets! However, I'm sure we'll get down to something, maybe the meetings in Bill's signature.
I don't know much about this car yet, so things like AW11 which I presume is the model number, is there an area on this forum I can read up the info etc?
Thanks

With a W.S 6 speed gearbox fitted the nodding stops entirely :-)

True if you have a spare thou it's a no brainer, but I'm a tight northerner and already hopefully got a six speed lotus 2gr gearbox plus two mk1a gearbox one with only 46thou on it so even cheaper

In my experience 5th gear pop out isn't anything like as common as it's made out to be, 1a's seem to suffer from it more than 1b's.
Gearstick nodding tends to be caused by worn (and or soft) front/rear engine mounts rather than gearbox problems, I filled my front/rear engine mounts with silicon and the nodding virtually disappeared
