North West - Sun 25 October 2015 - End Of Season & Blackpool Illuminations

Before we put our cars away for the winter how about a final run out for 2015!!

A quick afternoon blast through north Lancashire to take in the autumn colours, fish and chips and a stroll on the promanade at Blackpool and as night falls the world famous Blackpool Illuminations!

Sunday 25th October

Meet: Rivington Services, M61 NORTH Bound, Bolton. BL6 5UZ
Time: 13.00

For those who just want to join for supper and the Illuminations (in any type of car):

Meet: Sainsburys Car Park, Red Bank Road, Bispham. FY2 9HH
Time: 17.00

Fish and Chips from the excellent Bispahm Kitchen
Depart Bispham 18.30 approx to drive through the illuminations

Please let me know if you will be joining us at Bolton or Bispham and if you are bringing a MK1 or not.

A week to go for the last run off the year in the NW , get your names down for one last blast before boring winter .

Thanks Gary, I had a run out last Sunday to do a quick recce and I can tell you that there are certainly some sights to be seen if you drive along Blackpool promanade at 08.00 on a Sunday morning!!!!!!

All's looking good, I have a nice route planned if the weather is kind, a shorter route if the weather in unkind, I need to book a table at the chip shop (when ever I have been it has always been busy) so if you would like to come along please let me know.

If you don't want to take you MR2 out in to the salt air on a damp autumn afternoon it does not matter - come along to Blackpool in whatever you like and meet us at Bispham for fish, chips and a good natter and then enjoy a run through the lights. And for all of you worried about not getting home too late, being tired, not having enogh hours in the day remember the clocks will have changed the night before and everybody should have had the benefit of an extra hour in bed!

I will check in with Bill this week and see if he is going to join us - Gary if Bill is not driving but wants to come along I am happy to pick him up if you could drop him off on the way home. I will also bring a planner so we can see if we can put together the 2016 dates for next year if you have not already done this.

Thanks to everybody for turning up and being such good company. Always good to welcome members on their first club run. I hope everybody enjoyed it - sorry the traffic in the lights was so slow................ perhaps not the best choice of nights coinciding it with the first weekend of the school holidays and the first night after the clocks changed! I might have to fine tune it a bit for next year!!!

Gary, John, Dean and myself have put together the dates for 2016 so we will publish them this week so everybody will have dates to add to their 2016 calendars!!!

We believe in driving our mk1s for the fun of it.

Nice pic of my car found out why the rear wasn't working it had decided to pop out of the actual mount and heat weld itself to the intake, as I had stopped for fuel on the way back a nice man pointed out it wasn't working, yay one quick replacement bulb some glue and a reconnection of my number plate connector and all the rear lights were back in action.

Definitely would go on this run again bispham chips shop is awesome with the moby dick and chips, less school kids and a less car que would be nice.
