Hello from Cyprus! :)

I bought an Mk1 3 weeks ago. It needs some attention to the bodywork. The engine sounds well. some oil spills come out when the car stops.

Welcome to the club the car looks great and pretty solid.

Yassou Stelios! where in Cyprus do you live? My father is Greek Cypriot too.

Did you know the colour of your car is called Helios Blue?
That makes you Stelios with a Helios ;-)

I Live in England but my father is from Paleometokho.

Sky blue is the colour of my car. The later cars (like yours) that were light blue were even lighter and were called Helios.

They are black on the very early cars as are the bumpers and side mouldings. The early cars also had no side skirts.

I've never seen any official Toyota reference to that colour being called Helios Blue. Looked into it once before and as far as I could tell Helios Blue is a Volkswagen colour not a Toyota colour. Depending on the colour code charts you look (in relation to Toyota) at I've seen 8G2 called Ice Blue Metallic or Ice Blue Pearl or Light Blue Metallic. Seems to be most often referred to as Ice Blue Metallic.
If someone has a copy of the 89 brochure it will have a list of the available colours and names in it, would be nice to confirm this one way or another

I live in Limassol. Where do you live?
I thought the colour was called sky blue.
I was in limassol at the back end of last year on a diving trip. The roads once you get out the city will be brilliant in an mr2 :)
