I have arranged, as in previous years, for us to be able to attend this FREE show.
http://www.elvethamheathcarshow.co.uk/
We have been accepted again and it is a great day out, very free and unregulated. I have however now moved and will probably not be able to organise this one so anyone want to take over?
There is nothing to do other than turn up on time, set up the gazebo and get the cars in a line.
We have space for half a dozen cars but its not really set. You dont have to stay all day but as its a FREE day I like so stay as long as I can. The charity makes its money from the general public going to the few stalls they have. No admission charge at all.
Check the link, have a look and let Debs or myself know.

Hi Kev, blimey your only just up the road now. Well, a bit further than that but under an hour now I reckon. The SE's loss is our gain.
By the way, just to hijack the thread a bit, I have fitted the gearbox now at last and all seems well. I haven't been anywhere yet as it hasn't got any MOT or insurance but all the gears are present in all the right places.
We will have to meet up at some point.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve, yes we will have to get together. I too have no mot, insurance so the MR2 is not on the road. I am hoping to get a workshop set up soon and be able to sort a few things out. 6 cars in the family is causing a bit of a problem with space !!
Any good things happening down "our" way ?

Hi again Kev,
Not much happens down here mk1 club wise unfortunately. The MR2OC do something every month on the third sunday, but I haven't been on any of those for a year now I reckon. Not because I don't want to its just other stuff gets in the way.
I will keep my eye out for local events and let you know if anything worthwhile turns up.
I hope to get the '2 back on the road next weekend, if not then the weekend after. I pulled all the suspension out this year for a check over to see all was well. THere has been a few other little jobs to do as well, but we are nearly there now.

So where are all the volunteers ? All you need to do is get there first and set up a gazebo if you want one.

Hi Spudgun.
If your part of the world does not have an Local Area Organiser, how about giving it a try. I can get the membership sec to send you a list of members in any area you choose. By Town, Postcode, or County for instance.
We nee folk like you to keep local interest. Please give some consideration to this.
Cheers

Sorry about the delay getting back to you Richard, but Kevs right, I was the area rep for a year or so going back probably 4 years ago.
I will send you a PM later on in the week and we can discuss it that way. I have an idea we could try, if your willing, and see where it goes from there.

Looks like just you and me then Lee? We may as well go to the car show at Bentley museum in Lewes near Brighton. It's nearer for us. So Here's the challenge to all you out there. To stop me and Lee going to a different show and cancelling this one, put your name on the list. We would love to come to this show but we're buggered if we are going to come all this way just to be on our own. Add your name to the list and we'll come and join you.

Just to confirm that Lee and myself will be coming along and we'll bring a gazebo with us. We could really do with some more support though so if you're free that day we'll be glad to see you.

So what’s the plan for tomorrow?
Are we all aiming to turn up at the same time on site or are we meeting up at services before and turning up in convoy?
Just finised washing the car and chucking on some colour restore.
Aiming to get there 9ish. Leaveing Soton at 08:00hrs.

Ian,
There's no plan really, Just turn up. You should be there about the same time as Richard Brett in the white Mk1. The rest of us will follow. We've just had an enjoyable but long day at Lydden so a bit knackered at the moment so can't get up too early tomorrow. Perhaps the first people to arrive could try and get us a pitch big enough for 7 cars? That would be appreciated. See you all tomorrow

It was a good show this year :+:
It's gained in size since the first one I did 3 years ago and it was great to meet up with some old faces.
Although I did find out on the way home my brake lights had stopped working when a nice chap came leaning in the passenger side at lights to tell me. Had a look at the bulbs and there both fine so I guess the electric switch in the foot well has finally died :(

Nice to know we still have a following in Hants. Pretty good this year with lots of motors and plenty of sunshine. Did anyone get stuck on the M3 eastbound carriageway on the way home? Lee and I turned around before we got on the motorway and headed for Guildford. But guess what? We got lost!!
