Got the itch to go racing ?
Race Winner, Multiple Class Wins, Podium Finishes, handful of Poles and Fastest Lap holder at Silverstone !

Well prepared and maintained MK1 MR2 for sale, Only ever had 1 DNF !
The car was given a fresh shell mid way through 2008.
The donor shell being chosen as it was not suffering the common corrosion areas of the floor and front suspension mount area.
This car is very well set up, neutral and forgiving.
Ideal for Experienced or Novice Driver alike
(I joined as an absolute Novice in 2008)
Very well maintained with regular servicing and wants for nothing.
Despite it’s smart appearance, it does wear it’s “rubbing†marks with pride and has gone up against the best drivers in the MR2 Series.
Repairs have always been carried out the highest standard
If it’s this good, why am I selling ?
A question I have repeatedly asked myself….
I am building a car to race in the sister Nippon Challenge in 2011.
I have advertised the MR2 now, rather than the end of the season for maximum exposure.
If I wait until the end of the season there may be someone who has missed out.
(though will sell early if a deal breaker)
I will still be racing for the remainder of 2010 and the benefit is, if you are interested in joining the Series (or changing car), you can come and see the car both in the Paddock for a good rummage and then see it perform on track.
As I am moving to our sister series, I should be at the same race weekends in 2011 as the MR2’s to give any assistance, though the MR2 Paddock is very helpful should you need it anyway.
Details
Body
1987 (Still registred and currently SORN'd)
Painted Black with White vinyl patches
Lightened (being rather svelte myself  , I do carry lead ballast up front to reach the minimum weight (1050kg post race inc. driver), the benefit being, if you are a bit big boned your not necessarily going to be running with a weight penalty, otherwise you will need to run ballast)
T-Bar Strut brace
Sunroof blanked with a rather tidy fibreglass mould taken from an original sunroof, much better looking that a sheet pop riveted on.
Webbing type tow straps
Interior
Cage with optional front Diagonal
FIA approved Seat
6 point Harness
Plumbed Fire Extinguisher (Serviced in April 10)
LED Rain Light
Battery T Pull
Extinguisher T Pull
Electric Windows
Electric mirrors
Heater – Blower
(I have managed to save weight in other areas to keep the operational windows and heater – blower system working, you will be thankful of it)
Sports Pedals (nicely placed for Heel Toe)
Sports Steering Wheel
Shortened indicator stalk (ever seen a Caterham on track and wondered why he/she was always indicating)
Horn (it’s in the regs)
(supplied with Passenger seat, for when you do track days or tuition)
Engine
Just fitted a fresh engine after spinning a shell at Castle Combe
Std 4AGE as per regs
Regular oil & filter changes
New Leads
New Plugs (NGK)
New Cap & Rotor arm
New Water Pump
New Timing Belt

Lightweight Battery
Custom Stainless Steel Exhaust, noise never an issue at visited tracks (usually tests at 93db)
Suspension
Lowered Uprated Springs
Recent KYB Gas inserts
While Line Adjustable ARB’s
Poly Bushed
Refurbished Rear Toe Bars
Recent New Ball Joints Front & Rear
Brakes
Goodridge Braided Flex Pipes
Recent Brake Discs
Carbotech XP8 Brake Pads (£170 per set, but they are excellent and they last over a season at a time)
DOT5.1 regularly changed through the season
Wheels
Lightweight TSW 5 spoke alloys (& spare)
Spares
Without doing a full inventory, just a quick look tells me there is:
Doors, boots, Wings, Bonnet, Engine, 2x Gearboxes, Starter Motors, Alternators, Calipers, Master Cylinder, Coils, Amplifiers, Dizzy’s, Hoses, Radiator, Driveshafts etc.
(If it’s off a Mk1 and it’s in my garage, it’s included !)
To avoid any confusion, this is not a tired out old beater, this is a front running car that is ready to go.
Reliable (only ever 1 DNF !)
Well balanced and predicatable.
Smart & Presentable.
Many pictures have appeared in MR2 Only magazine, including the MR2 Only Calender in 2008
