hi , the time has come to part with another mk1 , i brought the car 8 months ago with a blown engine , the shell was mint so decided to save it . its had a rebuilt engine which has now done 1800 miles and it goes like stink .
the shell is solid and hasn't been welded , a,b posts are like new ( you can still see the spot welds ) the front chassis is solid and the floor pan rust free and all original , front crash bar rust free and no rust along the window screen edge . the rear arches inner and outer are rust free and original as are the stills .
the car has had 2 owners from new (last owner had it 11 years ) he couldn't afford to repair the car hence i got it on the condition it was put back on the road again . the history with the car is mind blowing ,its got every mot certificate from new and over £20000 worth of receipt that's not including the main dealer servicing stamped in the book its been well looked after in its life time with no expense spared . ( the engine failed due to oil pipe to the oil warmer splitting and throwing the oil out ,very bad luck ) .
i have spent hours bringing this car back to its former glory and is now in show condition and better than the one i got third at tatton show with .i have saved 8 mk1,s from the scrap man and enjoyed saving them all , its my hobby and love working on them . the cars got 7 months mot but can put 12 months on if required it will fly through .
the car has had far to much to list done to it so pm for details .
